Just something you might, or might not know about. It's an add on for Firefox web browser and now also Safari, called PicLens. It allows you to view web based images in an exciting 3D fasion. Minority Report comes to life!
Piclens is currently works on:
* Flickr, Smugmug, DeviantArt, Photobucket, Picasa
* Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Hi5, Friendster
* Image search on Google, Yahoo, Ask, Live, and AOL
* A growing number of Media RSS-enabled web sites.

WOW, that's all I can really comment on it. Just test it with Flickr, one thing I noticed is its greater ease of browsing. Totally awesome. It reminds me a bit of Mirosoft's Photosynth

Its wow factor is its function to explore your photo collection, used to construct the surrounding in 3D and give you an ability to view from angles and from distance seamlessly. I think you can try it out in boot camp mode.

ReplyDeletePity it's a Microsoft product. It probably caches whatever you look at and sends it to MS for analysis.
